Flavored Teas: Health Benefits, Antioxidants And Organic Tea

When considering what the epitome of wisdom must look like, more than a few people will likely call to mind an elderly martial arts master sipping a cup of tea. Granted, the idea takes inspiration from a number of stereotypes, but if those stereotypes take any positive direction from reality, perhaps sipping tea does correlate somehow to wisdom, or at least to longevity. At any rate, scientists have recently taken to testing just how much of the myth regarding tea's curative effects ring true, making now a perfect time to try out flavored tea.

The vast number of suggested benefits from drinking tea continue to find validation through scientific study. Still, the flavor of certain teas can put off potential drinkers from partaking in it despite the storied benefits regular tea offers. A fitting alternative comes in the form of flavored tea. As one can guess, flavored tea comes in incredibly varied forms to suit the tastes of nearly all potential drinkers. Flavored tea may come with a hint of melon, a subtle splashing of peach, or even a bit of rum, all to enhance the tea to better accord with the drinkers' specific tastes. For those afraid of chemical additives that may interfere with the health benefits of flavored tea, a number of organic teas have entered the market as well. Some of the flavored organic teas include vanilla, passion fruit and even coconut flavors.

After the proper taste draws in the drinker, the tea's medicinal effects will surely make a tea drinker for life. Tea greatly reduces the effects of free radicals through its natural antioxidants, thus fending off undesired conditions such as cancer and even heart disease. Other health benefits of flavored teas, as well as teas in general, include the restriction of cholesterol through flavonoids, improving oral hygiene via polyphenols and fluoride, and even aiding in digestion; partly by sterilizing food that may otherwise cause food poisoning. Thus, through its very useful antioxidants, fluoride, and a host of other beneficial elements in its composition, flavored tea could very well save one's life besides assuaging thirst.

Perhaps not everyone's vision of wisdom and longevity includes Mr. Miyagi from "Karate Kid," but at least as far as a tea drinker, he must have been onto something. Flavored tea can taste great besides helping a person's body achieve a greater state of well being. It certainly beats trying to do all of Daniel-san's workouts.
